The recent migration of the apparel manufacturing industry out of the Dominican Republic to China has created an underutilized skilled work force. These seamstresses remain either unemployed or, if they are fortunate, perform contract work with smaller disadvantaged manufacturers in underserved populations. Ecosocialnomics is fostering partnerships with these marginalized producers to encourage the creation of sustainable business opportunities in ways that are economically, environmentally and socially responsible.
Our manufacturers have been important partners in the design of our own products as well as customized designs specifically for our customers. They also utilize fabric scraps generated from making Blue Roos in the design of new products that minimize or eliminate landfill waste. Our manufacturing partners include:
